Take on the trial run and first incarnation of the Crazyman Triathlon Training Challenge. 5 Options include:
~~~FULL CRAZYMAN 3 Day 140.6 mile Tri Iron Challenge
~~~HALF CRAZYMAN 3 Day 70.3 mile Tri 1/2 Iron Challenge
~~~PARTLY CRAZYMAN 3Day 32.2mile Tri Olympic Challenge
~~~SLIGHTLY CRAZYMAN 3 Day 15.5mile Tri Sprint Challenge
~~~ODDLY CRAZYMAN 1 to 3 Day Tri Challenge where YOU decide the distances based on your current training and what your goal races are. Think Aquabike, Duathlon, modified distances, etc.
This is intended to be a 3 day triathlon training opportunity. This is NOT A RACE but a glorified training weekend. There are NO awards, t-shirts, prizes, swag bags, timing chips, or race bibs. But there will be a leader board for those who want to record their training numbers.
Tentative Logistics:
SWIM on Friday afternoon at Ventura Cove starting at 4:00 or after. (Note: sunset is at 6:08).
BIKE on Saturday morning at 8:00am from San Onofre campground (ride can include San Onofre, Las Pulgas, Camp Pendleton, San Luis Rey River/76 bike path). You will be responsible for paying a day use parking fee so carpooling is encouraged. We'll have a place set up in the shade where you can leave extra nutrition, have post-ride needs, grab extra water and ice, bbq, and/or just hang out.
RUN on Sunday morning at 7:00am (or should it be 8? - we have a poll going) from Fanuel Park (PB) around Mission Bay. LUNCH on Sunday afternoon - Potluck? Rubio's?
Come out and train. See what members of the "CrazyTrain" are like. Be inspired. Test yourself. See what's possible. Have fun!
More information will be posted. Please let us know if you're "interested" or are definitely in. Invite a friend. Space is limited due to city group regulations.
There is no "entry fee" or charge for this inaugural training event. If you are interested in private coaching (no obligation!) please consider Slade Coaching and like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/
This event has a Facebook Event page but it is set to 'private'. In order to see it you need to friend me (Skip Slade) and let me know you want to be 'invited'. This is annoying and I will do it differently next time! We welcome feedback as we hope to make this a regular, semi-frequent event in many and varied versions.
